The present article has as its aim to problematize the terms “disinformation and climate denialism”, considering the context in which denialism and fake news propaganda act as contributing factors to the polarization of the population regarding the climate crisis, impacting beliefs and, consequently, citizens’ behavior in face of the issue. For this analysis, news published in the news portal G1.com, a vehicle that has great reach as means of communication in Brazil. By first using the descriptor “denialism” and right after two descriptors combined “denialism AND climate change”. The qualitative study of descriptive and exploratory nature, sought to highlight news occurrences containing the descriptors “denialism” and “denialism AND climate change”, and “denialism AND disinformation”. Throughout the study it was observed that the biggest amount of news using only the term “denialism” are related to the last two years of the Covid 19 pandemic. Furthermore, among the results found for the two descriptors “denialism” and “denialism AND climate change”, it was observed, regardless of the topic studied, reviews that connect the current government as the biggest disinformation disseminator. The evidence of a climate denialist speech signals the need of qualified acting from the media so that scientific clarification, through which climate change can be perceived and understood in its cultural, economic, political, social and environmental aspects be propagated, in order to positively impact citizens’ behavior and vision.
