The article reflects on the work of Social Work in Social Policy, especially after 2004, with the deployment through out the country, the Social Assistance System (SUAS). To do so, at first brings elements of the historical trajectory of the Social Assistance in Brazil in order to understand the recent changes in Socialpolicy, changes that affect the professional practice of Social Work, both from a theoretical-methodological and ethical-political and technicaloperational. In the second phase, we discuss the demands and needs of the user population and their career prospects for their care.Metrics
