Resilience in teachers: Analysis of publications in the period 2000-2012

The aim of this study was to discuss the importance of resilience in contexts of teaching. For this, we performed a literature review of research on the topic from 2000 to 2012, in digital databases, the use of descriptors such as: Resilience, resilience in teachers, education and resilience, resilience. Were identified in the search, 82 works, including articles, theses and dissertations. Of these, only 18 were chosen for analysis because they fit the criteria for selection: productions that have their goals related to resilience in teachers. The results showed a low number of studies addressing the topic. Variables related to the theme that appeared most were: welfare teacher and teacher malaise, totaling 55.5 /% of production, and stress and stressors, with 44.5%. Regarding the method, prevailed studies of qualitative interviews with predominance of 66.6%, followed by questionnaires resilience and analysis of research on the topic 33.4%. Given the above, one sees the need to expand the scientific research related to resilience in teachers because the school should be a place to promote resilience both for students and for teachers.Metrics
