Abstract

The purpose of this article is to critically reflect the interference of the legacy of coloniality in surveillance technologies in the European postcolonial space, rehearsing the unveiling of a persistent overlap between these two logics. Based on the analysis of interviews with professionals in criminal and police investigation, forensic genetics, human rights and criminology in the Netherlands, it is intended to argue how surveillance technologies are complexly involved and committed to the historical, political, social and cultural.
