Abstract

This article brings to reflect the situation experienced in schools especially in the field of multigrade classes. Displays the Active School as a program for the application of educational methodology that seeks to produce pedagogical innovations appropriate for teachers and students that make up these classes. Aims to determine how they behaved indices of educational multigrade classes from the implementation of the Active School Program - the City of PEA Chapadinha - MA. Makes a historical overview of the program and its implementation in Brazil. For this, we sought to document the rationale and national laws that guide the Rural Education and normalize the Active School and theorists who discuss the topic. The method used was the literature and documents (statistical analysis provided by the MEC and the School Inspection Municipality). The research demonstrates a reduction in rates of repetition and dropout after the implementation of PEA.
