Abstract

Superimposed on the ideal that is imposed on the political theory that restricts its activity to search for the common good and has, therefore, the investigation of the principles which will allow the establishment of good government, the prospect of Machiavelli, through the foundation the experience and exemplifications of historialidade, converges to the discovery of laws that allow the establishment of a State, the attainment of power and its conservation, the introduction of empirical science of politics, which is characterized by objectivity and realism, demand, under relationship that involves ethics and politics, a distinction between private morality and public morality, implying a match with the interpretation of Weber, who analyzes the foundations of power and imposes the condition of the state holding the "legitimate" violence, identifying the policy as a relation of domination and the possibility to exercise two ethics, namely the “ethic of the purposes last" ("ethic of conviction") and "ethic of responsibility".
