Abstract

The present work was grown out of questions about religion and its position in man?s life. A reflection on the history of the religions, since their arising up to the present. It was made through this work a contextualized clipping of Judaism and Christianism, jointing them to psycho-analytic theory, more specifically, to the works of Freud and pos-freudians authors. The object of this work is to understand what move people to search for a religion, and in which way such religion influences their life and how it contributes for the constitution of the subjectivity itself. The analysis of the results points out that the interviewed persons did receive religious education since childhood. It points out also the religious sense that each religion has for its followers.
