Abstract

This paper analyzes the journalistic production of Monteiro Lobato in the period between 1914, when it publishes the text "An Old Prague" in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, and 1921, with the release of the compilation "The Green Wave", which combines the journalistic work on the areas in which the coffee is on the rise in Brazil. The research analyzes the critical view of the journalist Monteiro Lobato on issues involving social issues and that reflect the current models of citizenship.
