Abstract

“Se te derem um limão, faça dele uma limonada: reflexões sobre racismo na obra de Monteiro Lobato” é uma
contribuição nos debates acerca da obra “Caçada de Pedrinho” e as celeumas surgida no Ministério da Educação.
O texto foi preparado para o debate no evento “ Semana do Professor”, realizado em Taubaté no dia 14 de outubro
de 2015. Os aspectos da percepção do racismo, fruto de um processo de consciência negra engendrado nas
últimas décadas, influenciam no modo de reler algumas obras literárias, tidas como baluartes da literatura nacional.
Os debates decorrentes de tais percepções tornam-se fundamentais na busca de construção de alternativas
de combate ao racismo na produção do conhecimento.
