Abstract

O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar a relevância que a reunião Rio+20 recebeu da mídia carioca e se depois do evento a questão ambiental passou a receber maior destaque. A metodologia aplicada para chegar a essa resposta incluía a análise de dois tradicionais jornais impressos da cidade, O Globo e O Dia, nos quais as matérias sobre ecologia e meio ambiente foram contadas e frequências relativas calculadas de acordo com o número total de páginas do próprio jornal. O resultado revela que a Conferência recebeu destaque sensível no período de sua realização, mas que o mesmo diluiu-se nos meses seguintes, o que indica que ecologia ainda não é uma prioridade na pauta das mídias comuns.

Possui graduação em Comunicação Social - Jornalismo pela Universidade Veiga de Almeida(2002). Tem experiência na área de Zoologia, com ênfase em Taxonomia dos Grupos Recentes.

Daniel Shimada Brotto, Universidade Veiga de Almeida - UVA

Graduado em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1990), mestrado em Ciências Ambientais e Florestais pela Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (1997) e doutorado em Biociências e Biotecnologia pela Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (2005). Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Veiga de Almeida. Tem experiência na área de Ecologia, com ênfase em Ambientes Aquáticos. Participando em projetos de pesquisa na área da ecologia de comunidades aquáticas na UVA, UENF e UNIRIO e educação ambiental na UERJ.
