A relação entre a escola rural e a cultura caipira

Abstract

 O modo de viver do caipira paulista é a forma mais antiga de civilização e de cultura na zona rural brasileira. E no Alto Paraíba, parte do Vale do Paraíba paulista que se situa numa região serrana, sobrevive um dos últimos bolsões dessa cultura. Este texto resulta de uma pesquisa realizada com base em metodologia qualitativa, é uma pesquisa de campo, com observação participante, numa vila do município de Natividade da Serra e procura compreender qual é a expectativa dos moradores a respeito do papel que a escola ali instalada deveria exercer nesse tipo singular de comunidade, assim como a inter-relação da educação escolar em face dessa cultura multissecular.
